Reduced drying time, less ironing and less static cling — what a good softener actually does.
Softener coats fibres so they hold less water, which shortens line-drying time noticeably in the rainy season. That same coating relaxes creases, so ironing takes fewer passes, and it neutralises the static that makes synthetics cling. Add it to the final rinse rather than with the detergent.
